Some lucky pupils from our 5th and 6th classes were chosen to represent our school and Sligo All Stars at the Junior NBA event in Dublin.
After an early start to our day we reached the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght, Dublin.
The children who were known as The Golden State Warriors from then on began a series of stations further developing their skills.
Passing and shooting skills were on display before we proceeded to some strength and conditioning work.
After this the children participated in some 3v3 games and then 5v5 matches against other basketball teams.
The children got to to experience the media room too where they met current Irish basketball international Claire Melia.
There was a very informative Q and A and then the children role played real media interviews.
Finally the children participated in a quiz testing their basketball knowledge.
Thank you to the All Star coaches for the opportunity for these children to experience such a wonderfully organised day out, doing something that they love.
