It was an early morning start for the pupils of our 5th and 6th classes as they headed off to Baysports in Athlone for their much anticipated school tour. The two buses departed the school at 7.30 am and arrived in good time for their welcome meeting and safety checks. The weather was miserable-a real day for the ducks but it didn’t dampen the atmosphere or spirits 🌧️☔️
It only took a few minutes for everyone to get changed into the wetsuits and Mr Kelly lead the charge into the lake. All the children enjoyed climbing up onto the high slides 🛝 and there were plenty of laughs as they moved around the course encouraging others to slide into the water!
Ms Bambrick ,Ms Dunleavy and Mr Kelly all enjoyed the fun and were exhausted following the session in the water. Michelle, Ms Dolan and Mrs Connell stayed in the safety of the boat ⛴️ enjoying the action from afar!
Supermacs in Roscommon was the venue for lunch and everyone enjoyed their refreshments and some shopping for treats.
On the way home in the bus the conversation focused on the fun you have when you are with your friends. All agreed that it was a brilliant school tour . Thank you to Catriona for all her work booking this fantastic tour and to the children who behaved so well. They are a credit to Rathcormac NS. We hope that our 6th class pupils enjoyed their final school tour and we wish them every success and happiness in the future.
