The children in Ms Coggins class visited Parkes Castle today. It was most informative and enjoyable trip. The tour guide gave lots of information about the history of the castle, The O' Rourke Family, The Parke Family and the locality. The castle boasts many features including a sallyport, musket holes, a pidgeon tower, a sweat house and a well. The children enjoyed a short visit to the playground before returning to school.
