We were delighted to welcome Tara Darcy from Sligo Garda Station to Rathcormac N.S. where she met with our 6th Class pupils to discuss the important transition from primary to secondary school.
Garda Darcy spoke openly and honestly with the students about the opportunities and challenges they may encounter as they begin this new chapter. She offered practical advice on making positive choices, building good friendships, and staying safe and confident in new surroundings. Important topics such as vaping, alcohol, drugs, and loitering around town were also discussed, helping pupils to better understand the risks involved and the importance of making responsible decisions.
The visit was both informative and engaging, and we sincerely thank Garda Darcy for taking the time to support and encourage our students as they prepare for secondary school.
