Carol Service 2025

17th Dec 2025

One of the highlights of our school calendar is our Christmas Carol Service. This year, the event took place on Tuesday the 16th and Wednesday, the 17th of December in the hall. Both days, we were delighted to welcome a huge crowd of parents, grandparents, friends and family members. The large audience was treated to a diverse range of modern and traditional carols, and the Christmas story was brought to life through the Nativity scene and narrations.
Our music group, under the expert guidance of Moninne and Mr Brennan, began the service with Joy to the World. An all-time favourite, The Drummer Boy set the scene with our angels , shepherds and Mary and Joseph following on their journey.  Each class performed several carols. In the Bleak Midwinter featured soloist Aoibheann and Khloe sang the final verse of Child in a Manger Born beautifully. Alanna treated the crowd to her wonderful rendition of Carol of the Bells on her harp.
Other favourites included It was on a Starry Night, Infant Holy, Calypso Carol, Oiche Chiúin ,Zither Carol and Joy to the World. We enjoyed fifth class singing Go Tell It to the Mountains and  Hallelujah Sing Hallelujah. Our Infant classes, accompanied by Mr O'Sullivan, sang their hearts out, and we loved Jog Along Little Donkey, Away in a Manger and Sweet Baby Jesus. Sixth class wowed us all with their brilliant performance of Oh Holy Night and the service concluded with the classic Mary's Boy Child.

An enormous amount of work goes into preparing the Carol Service each year. Mrs Connell thanked the teachers and all the staff for their excellent work and praised the children for their fabulous performances. She acknowledged the fantastic talent in the school and concluded by wishing everyone a very Happy and Peaceful Christmas.
