Confirmation 2025
Thursday the 8th of May was a very special day for our 6th class children who celebrated their Confirmation in St Colmcille’s church at 11am. The sun shone brightly as Bishop Kevin joined Fr Tom in the packed church for the ceremony .
The children all participated with the readings, beautiful Psalm singing and instrumental music adding to the celebration. The children were as usual a credit to their families, their teachers Mr Kelly and Ms McLean and to our school. Bishop Kevin reminded the children of the importance of their role in the future of the church. He spoke of the election of the new Pope and just as they would be taking a new name for Confirmation so too would the new Pope choose a special name.
A huge thank you and well done to the children in our choir from 3rd to 5th classes. Your singing received many well deserved compliments and enhanced the ceremony beautifully.
Thank you to The Parish Council who presented each child with a gift in remembrance of this special day.
This year once again a party was organised by our parents association for the children back in the school hall. They had missed their communion party due to Covid Restrictions a number of years ago. It was lovely for all the families to meet up and enjoy a chat and a cuppa.
Thank you to all the parents who supplied the food and treats, helped decorate the hall and those who served the refreshments on Thursday. We really appreciate your continued support for these joyful school events.
We hope that the children will be inspired by the Holy Spirit for years to come and congratulate our fantastic 6th class pupils on their special day.
