We had an early start on Wednesday the 11th of October leaving the school at 8.30 a.m as we headed off to Tuam for the Connacht Cross Country competition . In total we had 20 children taking part in the races. The senior boys and girls races were 1,200 m while our junior boys and girls had to run 1 km. The weather was perfect and we were joined on the journey by a group of girls from Realt Na Mara, Rosses Point.
Mr Brennan did all the warm up exercises and prepared each group very well before they raced. We were delighted with the performance of all our children, they represented Rathcormac NS with flying colours. A big thank you to Mr Kelly and Mr Colsh who also helped to prepare the children over the past month.
The stop off on the way home at Supermacs was of course a highlight of the trip. It was a great day out and one we will all remember for a long time.
