Feelgood Friday
The whole school came together in the hall for the sixth session of Feelgood Friday. Ms Bambrick and her wellbeing committee lead the wake up shake up dance session before all the groups moved to their assigned rooms around the school. The kitchen under the guidance of Ms McGarraghy and Ms Bambrick was a hive of activity as the 🧁 cupcakes were prepared with exact weights of ingredients and oven temperatures set perfectly to produce delicious treats.
The theme of magnetism was explored with the group in Mr Brennan’s room. There were lots of opportunities to test items around the room. Other activities included exploring the force of gravity and push using the giant Jenga blocks. This activity was a great success as the group improved with each attempt to knock all the blocks set up around the room.
In Ms Dolan’s drama group there were very unusual cafe settings for role play activities with aliens speaking gibberous in one ,a cafe filled with Royals , one with invisible food and even a cafe where the food talks back to you ! You should have heard the dramas - they were hilarious 😆 and great fun.
Chess continued in Mr Kelly’s room with plenty of forward thinking and strategic planning in evidence. Who will beat Mr Kelly ? There are plenty of excellent challengers now. Table tennis with Ms Quinn was also very popular with plenty of laughs around the room. Mr Lally lead the basketball 🏀 skills in the hall and the children enjoyed lots of fun games and drills.
Art and crafts continued in Me Wood’s room -there was great concentration and sorting skills used finding the letter to make their personalised wristbands. Ms Murphy lead the music 🎵 session and the children enjoyed playing along with the chimebars and percussion instruments beating out the correct rhythms . Once again there was great concentration skills on display as the children engaged with all the different pieces of music.
LEGO club in Ms McEnroe’s room produced some very colourful structures with great design and imagination on display. The children in Ms Coggin’s room enjoyed the opportunity to play a variety of board games -once again it was fantastic to see the great enthusiasm and excitement around the school as the children enjoyed the first Feelgood Friday of the Summer term.
Happy Friday everyone.
