We were blessed with a beautiful sunny morning as the whole school enjoyed a performance of baroque music in our backyard. As part of the Sligo Baroque festival, the festival in a van group arrived early to set up their stage for this outdoor event on Wednesday the 24th of September 2025.
Laoise played a variety of pieces on her harpsichord and gave some historical background information on the evolution of music over the centuries.
The children all engaged with the performance, singing along with an ostinato, and afterwards completed artwork based on their immediate response to the workshop.
We would like to thank Elizabeth, who co-ordinated the visit to our school and the Arts Council, who funded the event. Thank you to the crew who set up the sound system in the van this morning.
We wish the Sligo Baroque Festival every success and look forward to taking part in future events.
