Congratulations to all the boys and girls in our second class who made their First Holy Communion today Saturday the 10th of May 2025. We were delighted to welcome the children,their parents .grandparents and families to St Colmcille’s Church Drumcliff for a very special day. Once again we were blessed with a beautiful day and the sun shone brightly as the children arrived for mass at 11 am.
The children all looked wonderful in their white dresses and suits and were complemented by Fr Tom as he began celebrating this ceremony. A huge thank you to Ms Woods for all her hard work preparing the children so well. All their readings and singing enhanced the ceremony greatly. The children are a credit to their families,teacher and our school.
Thank you to Fr. Tom for the lovely mass and words of encouragement and we also extend our thanks to the Parish Council for their gift to the children, a sovereign of their First Holy Communion.
Congratulations to all the children from 3rd to 6th classes who sang so beautifully in the choir under the direction of Mrs Connell . You are all using your singing talents for the benefit of our whole school community. Thank you to Ms. Quinn who accompanied the choir and to Ms Coggins for her help in the church.
Back in the school hall we had a fantastic team of parents waiting who prepared the venue for the much loved Communion party. We are very fortunate to have so many parents willing to help out and make these days so memorable. Thank you for all who supplied the home bakes and treats. The huge crowd in the hall all enjoyed the cuppa and the chat.
We are very grateful to our wonderful school secretary Catriona for all her hard work producing the treasured mass booklet , prayers and readings and for all her time liaising with our parents association Thank you so much Catriona.
We pray that all the children and their families will enjoy this special day .
