We were delighted to welcome Fr. Tom, parents, grandparents, and members of our local community to our Hunger Lunch in aid of Trócaire on Wednesday, 18th February. Our 6th Class pupils had been working hard in the days leading up to this special event to ensure everything was well prepared.
They created and delivered a highly informative presentation highlighting the vital work Trócaire carries out to support communities around the world. This year’s campaign focuses on Rwanda and the important projects volunteers are undertaking there. We are extremely proud of our pupils for their efforts.
As part of the initiative, the children collected sponsorship and completed a Fast Day — and they certainly felt the hunger! Afterwards, they enjoyed a simple meal of soup and a fresh bread roll together. We are delighted to share that a total of €1,875.45 was raised. This wonderful contribution will be forwarded to Trócaire to support their ongoing work in Rwanda.
A sincere thank you to all our 6th Class pupils, and to Mr. Kelly and Ms. McLean for organising such a meaningful event. We also extend our gratitude to Michelle, Kate, Catríona, Ms. Coggins and Mrs. Connell for preparing the delicious soup and scones — they were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Finally, a very special thank you to everyone who took the time to join us and show their support on such a special day for our 6th Class Students. Your generosity and encouragement are greatly appreciated.
