3rd and 4th class took part in the second webinar in the Meet the Scientist series.
This webinar was presented by a neuroscientist from University Galway.
This session focused on the brain,what it does,how it works and how we can keep it healthy.
We learned about some of the various brain parts such as brain stem,cerebellum and amygdala.
We also learned about neurotransmitters and how messages are transferred through our body.
It is wonderful to know also that our brains continually develop due to the neuroplasticicity of the brain.
The neuroscientist explained how deep breathing can really help us in moments of stress.
Who knows but some of our pupils could be inspired to become neuroscientists in future.
