Picasso and the World of Cubism in 6th Class
On Friday 6th Class delved into the world of Cubism, a revolutionary art movement pioneered by Pablo Picasso in the early 20th century.
During the lesson, pupils learned how Cubist artists broke down everyday objects, portraits, and landscapes into geometric shapes and bold, overlapping perspectives. The children explored how Picasso challenged traditional ideas of art by showing multiple viewpoints at once, creating striking and thought-provoking imagery.
Inspired by his style, our budding artists experimented with their own Cubist creations. Using bright colours, sharp lines, and imaginative shapes. The classroom was filled with excitement and discovery as students realised there are many different ways to see and represent the world. .
