On Friday 28th April we held our in house 5 a side soccer tournament. This is the second year our school held the event and this year we had over 80 pupils from 4th, 5th and 6th class take part.
There was great colour, drama, excitement, fun, skills, music and plenty of goals on display throughout the day. The tournament was played over 4 pitches with over 40 games taking place.
In the morning we had the group stages, after break we held the semi finals and in the afternoon we had the finals. In the semi finals we even had penalties to decide two matches.
The day was a great success and all pupils and staff agreed that the event will be returning for a third year in 2024.
Thank you to all the pupils and teachers that helped ensure the day ran smoothly a special word of thanks to Mr Brennan for creating a wonderful atmosphere with the drums, Mr Colsh for refereeing numerous games and of course to 6th class for organising the teams, jerseys, pitches and referees.
Well done to all the players that took part in the event and congratulations to the winning teams.
