Anti Bullying Week and World Kindness Day 🌎2025
This week, we celebrated Anti-Bullying Week.
Our wellbeing committee led the activities under the expert guidance of Ms Bambrick. There was a focus on belonging. We all belong to different groups within the community, in addition to being part of our school community here in Rathcormac NS.
This year, the school is working to achieve an Amber Flag. One of the goals involves promoting positive well-being in our school. World Kindness Day is a special day that highlights the importance of being kind to each other, to ourselves and the world around us. Its purpose is to remind everyone that kindness is what connects us all.
Each class completed an activity to celebrate World Kindness Day on Thursday, the 13th of November. Our infants completed colouring sheets "Be in I in kind". First and second class worked on a Kindness quilt. In our senior classes, we had some writing activities -In a world where you can be anything, be kind. Other classes worked on producing kindness chains.
Each child in the school also wrote on a love heart, which was placed on Our Kindness Tree. Certificates were awarded to children who had shown great kindness over the course of the week and in recent months.
Mrs Connell also visited each class and reminded the children of our focus on our Bí Cineálta poster . "Rathcormac NS is a kind place, let's keep it that way."
She complimented the children on all the acts of kindness which take place each day throughout the school and urged the children to continue this fantastic work at home.
A big thank you to Ms Bambrick and our wellbeing committee for all their work this week.
